Who is the founder?
Dr. Luciana is a dedicated and experienced veterinarian with a passion for improving the quality of life for all animals. With over 26 years of experience in Brazil and the United States, she founded LuAngel Special Needs Services, a nonprofit organization that provides individualized care and attention to special needs pets.
Dr. Lucianai understands the importance of personalized care for special needs pets, including those with sickness, disability, or chronic diseases. She has designed treatment plans that include rehabilitation, diet, prevention, and modification of the environment to ensure the best possible care for her patients. Dr. Luciana has a commitment to never euthanize an animal that could recover, even if the owner cannot afford treatment.
As a Veterinary Technician in San Diego
As a veterinary technician in San Diego, Dr. Luciana continued to develop her skills and adapt to her new role. She observed the need for better care for pets with special needs or chronic illnesses, who often faced negative experiences with grooming and boarding. She also witnessed the sad reality of pets being euthanized because their owners could not afford treatment, which deeply affected her.
Through her experiences, Dr. Luciana met numerous professionals who shared her passion and dedication for animal care. She learned from their approach, witnessing the good and bad aspects of the practice. With these insights, she formed her dream team for her own business, ensuring that the same love and care she always provided would be maintained throughout her practice.

Seeking Support
LuAngel Special Needs Pets is seeking support from sponsors, partners, and volunteers to help fund their services, including veterinary hospital visits, grooming, and boarding. Their goal is to improve the quality of life for special needs pets and open the first health center for these pets. Dr. Sarjiani’s dedication and commitment to animal welfare make LuAngel Special Needs Services a valuable asset to the community.
Dr. Luciana always emphasized the importance of doing one’s best in all situations to her children. She encouraged them to learn from their mistakes, be happy with who they are, and live in harmony with themselves. Even in difficult circumstances, she would strive to make the most of the situation and use it as an opportunity to learn and grow. These values were deeply ingrained in her family.
Passionate about her profession as a veterinarian, Dr. Luciana had always dreamt of starting her own business in the United States. Her experiences both in Brazil and as a veterinary technician in San Diego have shaped her approach to animal care. In Brazil, veterinarians often took on the roles of technicians or groomers, leading to closer relationships between the practitioners, their patients, and clients. Dr. Luciana’s dedication to her work led her to devise individualized treatment plans for her patients, and she would always prioritize the well-being of the animals under her care.
